Monday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 6:30am

POSITION SUMMARY
Production Team Members are self-starters responsible for operating the line in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring quality standards and schedule adherence are maintained. Production Team Members work in a variety of areas such as packaging, roasting and sanitation, while standing/walking for long periods of time. This position also requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, document and sample collection to meet quality checks, make adjustments and repairs to machines and take initiative to ensure work is done correctly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Performs all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to Company work rules
Follow Company’s Good Manufacturing Processes at all times
Builds packing boxes and/or trays for bulk product
Places product labels on pouches and shipping boxes as needed
Ensures that pouches are correctly filled and sealed
Packs sealed pouches into prepped shipping boxes
Seals loaded boxes and properly stacks boxes onto shipping pallet
Gathers ingredients and raw material from the warehouse, or pre-production storage area
Performs Lot Code verification
Inspects and sorts raw materials for quality
Measures ingredients for roasting and mixing
Loads ingredients into totes for roasting
Operates automated roasting and mixing equipment per Company SOP’s to produce batched product
Set timers for ovens. Loads product into ovens and monitors product to ensure proper temperature and roasting times are used
Mixes product in mixing drums
Manages detailed cleaning tasks through sanitation checklist and master sanitation schedule
Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems and recommends changes in equipment, procedures or work practices to improve sanitation standards and product quality
Maintains chemical usage and cleaning logs
Responsible for inventory and storing of sanitation supplies and chemicals
Performs housekeeping and cleaning duties, according to Company SSOPs
Perform other duties as assigned

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Education
High School diploma or GED is preferred
Experience
Prior experience working in a food manufacturing facility preferred, but not required
Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform all sanitation duties
Have good attendance record and able to comply with attendance policy. Understands punctuality is key
Must possess basic computer skills
Able to work as part of a team
Ability to effectively read, comprehend, and fill in production forms accurately with dates, times, temperatures and other processing information
Ability to work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery
Must be able to work safely around food allergens such as tree nuts, dairy, and soy.
Able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds

Minimum Qualifications Required for Appointment:
Open to NYS employees ONLY with one year of permanent competitive service as a Computer Operator or eligible for transfer to Computer Operator under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Consecutive transfers cannot result in more than a two salary grade advancement.
Candidates eligible for consideration under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Law are also encouraged to apply. Individuals certified eligible for the 55-b/c program must meet the education and experience qualifications of a minimum of 12 college semester credit hours in a computer-related field OR at least six months of experience/training in the operation of a medium-to-large server or mainframe. Candidates with one year of permanent competitive service at G-8 or above who satisfy the education/experience minimum qualifications and who did not fail the last holding of the Computer Operator examination may also be considered for 70.4 transfer.

Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma AND at least one of the following:
Either 1. Six or more college semester credit hours in a computer-related field such as Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems;
Or 2. Successful completion of high school vocational studies related to large scale Computer Information Systems;
Or 3. Six months full-time experience in the operation of a mainframe or medium to-large server or complex, multi-variable print production. Use or operation of personal computers or personal printers will NOT be considered qualifying.
Candidates appointed provisionally, must take the next Civil Service examination given for the job title, pass it, and be reachable for appointment on the resulting eligible list. If a provisionally appointed employee is either not successful on the examination or passes the examination but is not reachable on the resulting eligible list, the provisionally appointed candidate generally will not be allowed to remain in the position.
Duties Description
Under the direction of the Chief Computer Operator, SG-23, within the Chief Technology Office/Data Center Operations, the Computer operator, SG-10, will monitor and control the operation of data processing equipment in conformance with documented procedures.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Operate peripheral equipment including, but not limited to, Xerox and/or IBM printers and/or personal computers.
Load and mounts paper onto equipment.
Monitor job progress on print console.
Check for equipment errors and takes corrective action in response to minor error messages.
Check operation of printers to assure proper alignment and sequence of forms.
Remove jammed forms.
Notify supervisor of equipment problems.
Review completed jobs to ensure compliance with user agency specifications.
Maintain job status logs.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning duties including cleaning printer and the work area.
Monitor consoles (mainframe, open systems, hardware, diagnostic, or other critical displays) for performance alerts, batch program errors, and other problems.
Monitor facility environmental controls (security, fire, humidity, and temperature).
Notify supervisor of errors, alerts, or other problems.
Assist in resolving errors according to documented procedures.
Assist in performing system boots according to documented procedures and ensuring that systems are operating correctly upon restarting.
Perform duties that require one to bend, stoop, lift heavy (up to 50 lbs.) objects, push up to 1000 rolling pounds, and operate a pallet jack during a normal business day.
Assignment will include a restriction on playing Lottery games.
Due to the secure nature of the work at the Data Center, candidates will be required to undergo a special background check.
Some travel to the other Data Center Sites may be needed for site coverage and for escort duty of non-authorized visitors.

DAY: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri 7am - 3:15pm

NIGHT and WEEKEND: 3rd Shift Sun-Thurs 11pm - 7:15am
WEEKEND DAY: 4th Shift Fri-Sun 7am - 8pm
WEEKEND NIGHT: 5th Shift Fri-Sun 7pm - 8am
Assignment will include a restriction on playing Lottery games.
